
Spicy Tasty Dal
Ingredients:
- Toor Dal: 1 small cup
- Salt: 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder: ½ tsp
- Oil: 3 tbsp
- Peanuts: 2-3 tbsp
- Hing: ¼ tsp
- Dry Red chilli: 1 no
- Green chilli & ginger paste: 1 tsp
- Curry leaves: 4-5 no’s
- Mustard seeds: 2 tsp
- Tomato: 1 no
- Red Chilli Powder: 1 tsp
- Coriander powder: 1 tsp
- Achar Masala (Optional): 1 tsp
- Garam masala: 1 tsp
- Chopped Coriander leaves: 2-3 tsp
Method:
Take CFT toor dal and soak it for half an hour, add it in cooker and add 3 cup water, turmeric powder, salt, peanuts. Add little bit oil in it so that dal don’t pop out (emerged) from cooker. Mix it firmly.
Close cooker lid, and turn on stove on medium flame and steam for 4-5 whistle. And then let be cool the cooker. During that take tomato and chop it into medium pieces. Now open lid and sauté it well with hand blender.
Here take a pan and turn on stove on low flame and add oil. After oil gets little bit hot, add mustard seed, hing, dry red chilli, curry leaves and ginger & green chilli paste. After 5 seconds add chopped tomato pieces and sauté it until tomato pieces gets softer.
Now add red chilli powder, Coriander powder and achar masala. Achar masala makes dal’s taste more delicious.
Add cooker’s dal mixture into pan and mix it well on low to medium flame and add half cup water and sauté it for 10 minutes and add little bit salt as per taste and garam masala.
We didn’t use tangy and sweet flavour option here, because we want spicy taste. If you want to add you may use that options.
After 10 minutes, turn off flame and add fresh chopped coriander leaves on top.
Our Spicy Tasty Dal is ready. Serve it with steam rice for best taste.
