Ingredients and Method
Take ground spices like coriander seeds, jeera, black pepper and kashmiri red chilli.
Add all ground spices in the right quantities to a blender. Ensure that the blender jar is dry
Blend until the ground spices turn into a coarse powder. Store separately in a dry container
In a big kadai add butter and heat. Once heated add bay leaf, green chilli, kasuri methi and saute till fragrant.
Next add chopped onions and capsicum and saute more.
To this add turmeric and chilli powder followed by a tomato-onion puree or paste.
Mix the ingredients well along with the ground spice masala or kadai masala and salt according to taste.
The masala will eventually release visible oil, which ensures that the paste is ready.
Add water according to the consistency of gravy you need.
Gently add cubed paneer pieces in the gravy prepared.
Cover the kadai and allow it to simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Before serving add garam masala and freshly chopped coriander leaves to the dish.
