Gooseberries or amla is a very healthy and
nutritious tree born and raised in Asia. Indian gooseberry, Amla, is used
highly for medical benefits. It is one plant that is served as a pickle, as a
candy, as a juice or even in powdered form. In India Amla is also converted
into a sabzi, served with chapatis.

Use

good meal. Here is a quick amla ki sabzi recipe for you to make at home:

Ingredients
Indian gooseberries

2 tablespoon Jaggery powder
-
¼ teaspoon asafoetida
⅕ teaspoon carom seeds or ajwain

1 teaspoon fennel seeds or saunf
-
1 inch Ginger
-
3 chopped green chillies
-
20 shallots chopped
-
1 teaspoon chilli powder
-
1 ½ teaspoon coriander powder
-
¼ tablespoon turmeric powder
-
Chopped jaggery 1 cup
1 ½ tablespoon tamarind powder
Salt
Directions
Remove the seeds of the gooseberries, after rinsing them thoroughly
Slice ginger
In a non-stick pan, heat oil and add asafoetida, carom seeds, fennel seeds and ginger
Saute the ingredients for a minute or so without burning them down
Later add chopped green chillies, shallots, gooseberries, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, jaggery, tamarind powder and salt
Mix everything well and cook for 3-5 minutes on a medium flame
Once the jaggery melts and the shallots turn golden, you will know for sure that the dish is ready
Serve hot garnished with chopped cilantro and consume with chapatis
