The
Indo-chinese or as Indians call it the Desi Chinese cuisine has paved its way
into various countries. The deliciousness of Chinese dishes mixed with the
tanginess and flavours of Indian meals is a perfect combination. One of the
most popular Indo-chinese dishes is veg manchurian. It can be filled with
vegetables and incredibly is tasty. This is a simple to follow and not so
tedious recipe to make the perfect vegetarian chinese manchurian at home.

Ingredients
1 ¼ cup chopped cabbage

½ cup grated carrot
¼ cup chopped French beans
2 tbsp chopped capsicum

½ cup finely chopped spring onions

2 tbsp corn starch

3 tbsp all purpose flour
½ cup bread crumbs
½ teaspoon crushed pepper

1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste

¾ tbsp chopped garlic

½ tbsp chopped ginger
¼ cup chopped spring onions
¼ cup finely chopped bell peppers

1 tbsp soy sauce
-
2 tbsp chilli sauce

1 tbsp ketchup
-
1 tsp vinegar
¾ tbsp corn starch
Water
1 ½ tsp sugar

½ tsp crushed pepper
Directions
Wash and chop all your veggies for the manchurian
To a bowl add the veggies, cornstarch, all purpose flour, pepper, ginger garlic paste and salt
Mix them well and add bread crumbs. Mix again
Gently make small sized balls using your hands without breaking any
Set aside and take a kadai or pan
Heat oil in the pan for deep frying the vegetable balls
Fry the balls each for nearly a minute, once they are brown and crispy take them out on a paper towel
For the sauce, heat oil in a pan and add ginger and garlic to it. Saute for some time
Add onions and capsicum to the same and cook for 1-2 minutes
Make a syrup using cornstarch and water in a bowl
Turn the heat down and in the same pan add soy sauce, red chilli sauce, and ketchup
Next add the cornstarch mixture to pan while mixing constantly
Add vinegar, salt to taste, crushed pepper and sugar
Cook until the sauce thickens and turn off the heat
Allow it to cool off
Add the crispy vegetable balls to the cooled off sauce
Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve with fried rice or noodles for the perfect Indo- chinese meal.
